HISTORY

FUS15_logo_03_72dpiAt the start of 1993, Jack van Gelder came back from holiday with the idea of starting his own men’s fashion brand. He got some of his friends riled up about the idea and after a couple of weeks of brainstorming, the plan became reality and Fellows was born.
From the very beginning, Fellow’s personal styling department gave the brand its own face and it soon appeared that there was definitely a place in the Dutch market for a casual men’s clothing brand. A brand that could deliver the total package at affordable prices.
The shirts, sweatshirts, rugby’s, T-shirts, sports shirts, sweaters, trousers, Bermudas and jackets can all be combined perfectly. Each season, our collection includes multiple themes. In 2004, for Fellows celebrated its ten-year anniversary with two brand-new showrooms and an absolutely smashing party in Amstelveen. Under the supervision of fellow Fellows Mart Smeets, Rene Froger, Huub Stapel, Pieter van den Hoogenband, Guus Meeuwis and Louis van Gaal, Fellows wrapped up its decennial in style… ready to start another ten amazing years in the same style. After Jack van Gelder left, it was clear as day that they needed an ambassador that could live up to his name.
Toine van Peperstraten, Jack van Gelder’s colleague at the Dutch football talk show Studio Sport, was prepared to take over. Together with Toine, they created their very own Fellows Magazine and the contact between Fellows and various famous Dutch people remained. To this day, Huub Stapel, Frits Sissing, Wilbert Gieske, Bert Kuizenga and others stop by for a cup of coffee every once in a while. But Fellows took it even further. And how! Together with one of the largest sport marketing bureaus in the Netherlands, they launched Fellows United.
Five of the most remarkable Dutch international football players became the faces of Fellows. Fellows United; Martijn Reuser, Rob Witschge and Richard Witschge, Arthur Numan and Regi Blinker. This illustrious company has been the figurehead of Fellows United. Every season, the cover of the magazine features our five heroes during the photo shoot and, of course, that’s not all. Our Facebook page www.facebook.com/fellowsunited reveals backstage photos and movies. Locker room humour, jokes, pranks and laughs!
Fellows United clothing is now available for sale in approximately 350 men’s fashion stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, England and Canada. For a relatively young brand, the growth went rapidly, but everything is kept under control. No silly jumps, no haughty behaviour, we like to stay normal, Fellows amongst each other. United. Fellows United!
