Toine van Peperstraten
Born in Achthuizen on 18 December 1967. After Jack left Fellows, the search for a new Fellow began. And whom else could we ask but Toine? The presenter of Studio Sport knows the tricks of the trade, we knew him and besides anchorman, he also became senior editor of our very own Fellows Magazine. From 1993 to 2013, Toine worked as a host for the sports program Studio Sport. He had every person’s dream job, because he’s been everywhere… He attends the biggest sports events such as the Olympics, Champions League and big football tournaments, but Toine is also active on top of his sportive TV business. In 2006, for instance, he was on the successful prizewinning series “Wie is de Mol” (Who is the Mole?), broadcasted by the Dutch channel AVRO. In the meantime, he was a radio DJ for Radio Veronica, was in charge of the radio show KXRadio and while he was at it, he also presented the sports programme “Langs de Lijn” (On the Side-line) on Sunday afternoons. June 2013 is a time in his life Toine won’t easily forget. During that month, he announced his transfer from the Dutch channel NOS to FOX. After a solid 20 years of doing Studio Sport, he succeeded Humberto Tan with the Fox Sports Eredivisie. Indeed, the other Fellows jokingly call him Toine “the man with the least international matches” van Peperstraten and of course he is. But no one can deny he’s sportive. In 2009, Van Peperstraten participated in the New York City Marathon. His time? 04:14:07. Want to know one last remarkable fact? Toine is a fan of football club Willem II from Tilburg and is not afraid to show it.
